In this 4 week elective class, students will delve into the skill of creating a character. Each week attendees will discover ways to create a character on stage through their voice, body, and point of view/philosophy. They’ll bring these all together and explore how to incorporate characters into their long form improv play.

REQUIREMENTS: SCIT Level 3 Improv Class completed or instructor approval.
CLASS LIMIT: This class is limited to 12 people maximum.

INSTRUCTOR: Fred Brown
Fred came up through the Philly improv scene and spent 7 years teaching, coaching, performing, and directing longform improv, mostly at the Philly Improv Theater. More recently he lived in Ithaca NY and taught longform classes there. He is a member of the long-standing Philly team The Future (now distributed across the country), who performed weekly for over 6 years and at various festivals around North America. He coaches SCIT Harold Team NARSH! Fred earned his MFA in Devised Performance from the Pig Iron School at University of the Arts in Philadelphia, with training in movement, improvisation, mask-work, and clown. He works as a facilitator, trainer, and team coach, specializing in applied improvisation and collaboration skills.
